Our Mission

We strive to provide individualized ACT and SAT peer tutoring to every interested student without regard to their financial situation or academic achievement. Our hope is that by doing so we can give them the opportunity to reach their potential and help them achieve their post-secondary goals.

Genesis was espoused in April of 2013 when founders Sid Ramesh and Dennis Bao realized the lack of affordable individualized ACT tutoring within their school. They have since incorporated and received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS and expanded to numerous schools throughout the metro area. Teach for America recently reached out to them to begin a partnership with a focus on expanding to inner-city schools.

We have clients initially take a diagnostic to best assess their weaknesses and then assign a tutor to them who we feel best will meet their needs. This strategy has led to an aggregate average increase of 2.1 points in composite score among our clients.

Sid is great at teaching math; he helped me make sense of some of the more difficult problems and how to simplify them. He is great at teaching rules that apply to a large percent of  both math and english to improve your score. Although I have not taken the ACT by now, I am more confident in my test taking ability.

Ned H.

Genesis has helped me develop and learn skills that will be useful not only for the ACT but also in school. Also, Meghana and Jenny were so patient and helped meet my personal needs. The individualized setting is much more helpful than the classroom setting.

Daniela G.

My sessions with Kyle have helped me to understand the concepts behind the test which has allowed me to more effectively manage my time during the test.

Jordan S.

Before working with Sid I was struggling in my math classes. The past two years he has helped me become a more successful student which will also help me prepare for the ACT and college.

Grayson W.

Sid was really able to adapt to my individualized needs and formulate a plan tailored to improve my weaknesses. I’m really grateful for the time he put in to help me.

Aanik L

Working with Kyle has been really effective because he helped familiarize me with the test and taught me how to speed up to get through all of the sections in time.
